1.3.8.3.  Document types

The Document types dialog area offers the option of making additional documents accessible within the respective application. You can set up file formats such as *.pdf , *. doc or *.html, etc. for this purpose.

The example uses the Word format *.docx .

  1. Call up the input window via the New button.

  2. Enter the desired file format and confirm with OK.

    -> The format is transferred to the Document types dialog area.

  3. Click on Edit to open the corresponding dialog box.

  4. Define the basic settings for this file type (see example figure below).

    • Large symbol or small symbol [Small symbol]: Directory path in which the respective symbol for this file type is stored.

      (Is usually entered automatically)

      With the help of the Browse button ... you can browse the system.

    • Application (WIN): Define the application with which this file type should be opened. Use the browse button here too ....

      Do not forget%1at the end of the path! (placeholder for the file)

      For English-language operating systems, quotation marks must also be used ("%1").

    • Copy symbol files to the CADENAS/SETUP directory [Copy symbol files to directory CADENAS/SETUP]: If you activate this option, the symbols created under Small symbol or Large symbol (e.g. as administrator) are generally available to users.

      The settings made within the settings for the file type [Preferences for file type] generally apply to the respective file type.
