[Note]Note

For an update with LinkDB connection, make sure that the option Keep all or Number of versions >=2 (default = 2) is selected in the Versions dialog area. You will find the setting option for both the offline and online versions.

  • The single steps during the update are displayed in the main window.

If there are links in the LinkDB, which have to be edited, the following entries appear:

    Updating link database...

    Updated link database

Wait until installation [Installation finished] appears complete [Installation finished].

    [Note]Note

If there are a lot of linked lines in the link database, this can take some time.

  • When the update is complete, open PARTlinkManager.

After the update now for each project line with changes there are two links (lines) with different version numbers (compare column "version" or "PSOL Project").

    [Note]Note

The version [Version] is encoded as a date and time. For example, v150612115815 stands for 11:58:15 on June 12, 2015.

The higher the number, the more current the version.

In the Active State and Requested State columns, you can see the corresponding entries for the old and new versions (see Section 4.15.3.5.1, “ACTIVE_STATE and REQUESTED_STATE ”).

    [Note]Note

The values will be changed when the new assignment is processed.

  • Now start the Update Manager [Update manager] under Tools [Extras] menu -> Update Manager [Update manager].

In the Catalogs area, you will see symbols at directory, project and line level that indicate certain changes. You will find a detailed description in the following sections.
