1.3.5.2.1.  Representation

You can make the following settings in the Display dialog area:

  • Shading:

You will find the following selection options in the list field:

    • Edges

    • Concealed edges (gray) [Hidden lines (gray)]

    • Concealed edges [Hidden lines]

    • Shaded

    • Shaded with edges

    • Schematic

    [Note]Note

The setting only refers to the default setting when loading the component. You can change the display mode using the corresponding toolbars in the program interface.

  • Lines in component color [Lines in part color]

Component color refers to the color of an individual part in the assembly. This option therefore only applies to assemblies with colored components.

  • Edge smoothing [Antialiasing] smoothes the component contours.

  • Red/cyan

Representation of the component in plastic 3D preview. The three-dimensional effect only occurs when using red-cyan glasses!

The selected part is displayed in alignment to enhance the three-dimensional effect. The background is automatically darkened. The red/cyan effect option can be used regardless of the display mode (Lines [Lines], Hidden edges [Hidden lines], Shaded, etc.).

Use the checkbox to switch the option on or off by default.

  • Red/cyan button

Specify the position (corner) in the list field.

  • Coordinate system Show dimensions [Show coordinate system dimensions]

Use the checkbox to switch the display of dimensions on or off.

  • Coordinate system (large)

Use the checkbox to switch the large coordinate system in the center of the component on or off.

    Coordinate system (small)

Use the list box to switch the small coordinate system (the one in the corner) on and off and determine the position (corner).

  • Display measuring grid [Show measuring grid]

If this checkbox is activated, the dimension grid remains active even after restarting the software. The toolbar button in the 3D viewer works independently of this checkbox and does not remain active after a restart.

    • Orientation cube

Use the orientation cube [Orientation cube] to easily rotate the 3D view. Click on an edge, corner or surface to bring it to the front. Repeatedly clicking on a surface rotates the part around the perpendicular to the surface.

    • Gloss texture [Highlight texture] In conjunction with the "Shaded" or "Shaded with edges" display type, a so-called gloss texture can be selected for the surface of a component. The corresponding selection can be found via the list field.

  • Pencil drawing [Sketching]

You can make various adjustments using the list field.

You will also find a corresponding button on the program interface.
