7.12.21.  Fill column with thread information

To fill columns with values from the thread tables, use the context menu command Fill column with thread information in the column header of the table. Values for nominal diameter (ND), thread pitch (PITCH), core diameter external thread (KDA) and core diameter internal thread (KDI) can be entered.

That means a considerable speed advantage for the modeller's work and will reduce the error rate.

Example:

  1. Open the context menu in the column header and click on Fill column with thread information.

-> The Fill column [Fill columns] dialog box opens.

  2. Select the desired standard in the expanded list field under Thread standard [Thread norm].

  3. Under Thread name, specify the column to be used for mapping the appropriate thread information.

  4. Select the desired thread parameter in the expanded list field under Output parameters [Return value].

Here in this example, ND (nominal diameter) is used.

Here in this example, ND (nominal diameter) is used.

    Following options are available:

    • ND: Nominal diameter

    • PITCH: Thread pitch

    • KDA: Outer core diameter

    • KDI: Inner core diameter

  5. Confirm with OK.

-> The values found in the thread norm are entered in the column.

    [Note]Note

For the mapping, spaces are removed internally in names and commas (,) are replaced by periods (.). Upper and lower case is not important.

Values taken for COL1 correspond with the nominal diameter (ND).

-> If no mapping was possible, a corresponding message is displayed.

Example: For 2 values no match could be found in the thread norm.

  6. Repeat the procedure, but this time for column COL2 with selection "PITCH" for output parameters [Return value].

The values taken for COL2 correspond with the thread pitch (PITCH).
