2.8.1.1.3. PARTdataManager: Topology length dimensions

On the tabbed page of Search results, you can call the dialog box Select columns by right-clicking on a column header.

Here you can activate or deactivate the columns to be displayed via checkbox.

Up to now there was a double naming "Topology". Now with V11 SP5 the one option has been renamed to Topology length dimensions.

Set visibility of columns

In the following you can find descriptions for the three topology columns:

  • Topology values:

For example, may be you want to see how many holes a part has because this is not visible in the preview or you want to see Largest dimension, Middle dimension and Shortest dimension by default.

When using the option Topology values, these are not only displayed at the Topology Search, but also at all other search methods. Open the tree in order for all categories to be shown and select the checkboxes at the desired topological values.

    Example:

In this example the options Largest dimension, Middle dimension and Shortest dimension have been activated under Topology values -> Size.

In this example the options Largest dimension, Middle dimension and Shortest dimension have been activated under Topology values -> Size.

  • Topology:

When enabling the option Topology it is only relevant for a Topology search.

If the option is enabled, then for all searched topological values, the respective columns are displayed.

The column Size with values for extension in X, Y and Z axis is automatically displayed at a Topology search.

In this example a Topology search with the features "Hole", "Amount" >=10 has been performed. The number of boreholes is displayed in the respective column.

In this example a Topology search with the features "Hole", "Amount" >=10 has been performed. The number of boreholes is displayed in the respective column.

  • Topology length dimensions:

Only visible when executing a Full-text search. The option refers to topological length dimensions, which are searched in the course of a Full-text search.

    Example:

In a company parts catalog, a Full-text search is performed with value 100.

In the docking window Topology information you can see, where hits took place. The table does not contain characteristic attribute values, so that parts cannot be found in this way.

    [Note]Note

The use of this feature requires a full-text search index administratively updated plus config entry set accordingly.

In the configuration file partsol.cfg, block INDEX:LUCENE, key TopologyCatalogs, the desired catalog path has to be set in the following form:

    cat/<catalog_name>

Details on this can be found under Section 1.3.8.6.15, “ Update Full-text search index (and Geometrical search index) for finding topological values via Full-text search ” in PARTsolutions - Administration Manual.
