2.1.1.2.3. Electrical Classification: New features "Connector Polarization" and "Connector Coding"

As of V11 SP12 in the electrical classification, in the class Connector [CNSELEK|4] the two features Connector Polarization and Connector Coding have been added. They support a quick recognition, which connectors are compatible and so an error-free mating (male/female).

The features are set in PARTproject, in the dialog Class variables. The entry can be done in free form as there is a huge range of options depending on manufacturer and specific part.

  • Connector Polarization: Polarization is made by the shape itself, for example or by recesses and code snugs.

    Example: Recess and code snug

  • Connector Coding: If connectors are the same or very similar, coding keys can prevent certain matings.

Example with feature Connector Polarization: The value is controlled by a table variable.
