Once a design step has been performed in the Sketcher (adding a line for example), in the docking window Edit element, the corresponding input fields are displayed.
In V12, this feature replaces the dialog Change parameter, which also was displayed after each design step. Now the advantage is that you don't have to confirm with every time. So a polygonal line, for example, can be created still much faster.
Also you can manually select an element in the Sketch history or in the Sketcher, in order to call the dialog and if needed to change parameters.
If the checkbox Automatically apply changes is activated, each valid change is automatically saved (nevertheless, can be undone [Delete step
or Undo
]).If the checkbox is not activated, an button is displayed and changes are only saved if it is clicked.
The default position of the docking window Edit element is top right in the same area as the Variable Manager. Another practical position is below the Sketch history (what possibly requires scrolling). Determine the most pleasing position yourself.
When wanting to rebuild the old V11 behavior, you can do this under Settings -> Sketcher (feat.) -> Performance by activating the option Call dialog for parameters after generating.
