As of V9.08, at Full-text search, projects and link database are always searched together[39]. Even if several search terms are entered it doesn't matter whether hits result from the project file (geometry data) or from a link database column.
The table shows the hit in the LinkDB column DESCRIPTION:
In this example search terms are used, which are linked with the boolean operator OR [40].
The characteristic again is, that the one terms will score hits in project files, the other in the link database.
gasket OR o-ring
With OR it is sufficient, if one of the terms scores a hit.[41]
That means: Projects are found, which either have the term "gasket" OR the term "o-ring", regardless of whether the term is in the project file or in a LinkDB column.
The hit list contains "o-rings" and "gaskets". It does not matter, where the hit scores, in project files or in the link database.
In the following example the reason is, that the term "Gasket" is found in the DESCRIPTION column of the LinkDB.

Please keep in mind - especially when manually adding a term into the link database, that the link database index has to be created again.[42] The respective command is found in PARTadmin -> Index administration -> context menu command Create link database search index.
