In V12 parts of the assembly can be opened for editing in PARTdesigner via context menu command Edit in PARTdesigner... both in the Configurator and in the Assembly docking window.

When saving, changes are automatically applied in the assembly.

Furthermore in the docking window Assembly, a tooltip showing the connection rule is displayed during mouseover.
