1.3.1.2.6. Rotation of plane on freely specified axis

As of V12 SP4 a plane can not only rotated on a main axis (X/Y/Z), but on any freely specified axis.

This feature is officially available only for future versions and is only an internal test version as of V12 SP4.

  1. Select one of the Base planes (XY/ZX/YZ) and click on the context menu command Insert new plane....

  2. Under Type, in the list field, select Plane with rotation.

    Example: Base plane XY rotated on X axis and shifted in direction of Z axis

    Example: Base plane XY rotated on X axis and shifted in direction of Z axis

  3. Under Angle, enter a number of degrees.

  4. In the list field under Turn around, select option Custom Axis.

    The rotation axis is specified via a direction vector, which has to be determined in the dialog area Rotation axis AND via a point of axis, which has to be determined under Point on axis.
