The following figure shows the user interface of PARTadmin.

The PARTadmin user interface with index management [Index administration] selection is divided into the following areas:

Menu and toolbar

Category selection [Category]

All administrative operations are carried out within PARTadmin.

Use Category to select the specific use case (e.g. index management [Index administration], catalog updating [Catalog update], ERP environment, etc.)

This section deals with index management [Index administration].

The areas and are displayed unchanged for all PARTadmin functions.

      All installed catalogs are displayed here.

      The following own parts are managed/displayed here:

    • Classifications

      All installed classifications are managed here.

      Favorites and the history [History] are managed in the index tree under user data [User data].

      • Favorites

        All favorites set in the PARTdataManager are displayed here.

        You can also hide certain displays of different directories in the PARTdataManager.

      • History

        The complete history of the parts used in the PARTdataManager is displayed here.

        You can also hide certain displays of different directories in the PARTdataManager.

  • Preview images

    Preview images of directories and projects are displayed on the right.

You can activate the Index update dialog area in the context menu of the title bar, the menu or the toolbar.

Messages

Errors are displayed in the Messages window.

Status bar - Icons

  • An icon in the status bar indicates whether the index is index:

    If a green lock symbol is displayed, PARTadmin has access to the index.

    If a red lock icon then the index is locked.

    When moving the mouse over the icon a tooltip is displayed where you can see which computer and which application is responsible.

  • When generations are processed the respective icon is displayed as well.

    In addition, all current generations are displayed in the Index update dialog area.

    Click on Clear list [Clean list] to hide the icon again.

    If the Index update dialog area is hidden, it is shown again by clicking on to show it again.
