5.12.11.4. Classification of Electrical Connections [CNS_CP|4|3])

[Note]Note

Prerequisite:

All electrical contacts must be equipped with a connection point [Connection point].

Information of parts already classified according to eCl@ss, can be mapped to the CNS classification. Otherwise 3D data in PARTsolutions (connection points classified as electrical connections) have to be equipped with additional information from data sheet.

CADENAS supports a certain subset of the connection properties ( Electrical Connection class) that are defined as part of eCl@ss ADVANCED. This set can be extended at any time if required.

The following illustration shows (framed in red) the currently available connection properties (Electrical Connection = CNS_CP|4|3 ) called up under PARTproject -> Extras menu -> Class systems: Edit. [Class systems: edit...].

Class system CNS -> Filter connection points [Connection points] -> Insertion Point -> Electrical -> Electrical Connection

Class system CNS -> Filter connection points [Connection points] -> Insertion Point -> Electrical -> Electrical Connection

The following figure shows the currently available connection properties (Electrical Connection = CNS_CP|4|3 ) called up under PARTproject -> Edit project -> General tab -> Characteristics (CNS)

Characteristics (CNS) -> Class CNS_CP|4|3 (Electrical Connection)

Characteristics (CNS) -> Class CNS_CP|4|3 (Electrical Connection)

The following listing exemplarily picks out some attributes and shows possible values:

You can set the type in the Class variables dialog.

You can also set the type in the Published elements dialog area.

    [Note]Note

In any case avoid free textual input, but set the desired type via list field selection in order to avoid errors.
