7.9.2. Launching the Sketcher

The docking window Sketcher will appear at different calls:

  • New sketch... / Edit...:

    If you want to create a new Sketch for a part, do the following:

    1. In the docking window 3D History, at one of the three planes (Plane XY, ZX. YZ), open the context menu.

    2. Select the command New sketch....

      -> The docking window Sketcher is opened.

    If you want to edit an already existing sketch, do the following:

    1. Select the sketch to be edited (in below figure exemplarily "Sketch 1").

    2. In the context menu, click on the command Edit....

      -> The docking window Sketcher is opened.

  • New 2D drawing...:

    If the Sketcher is opened in drawing mode, first the same named dialog box is opened, where you need to select a View. After clicking OK, the docking window Sketcher is opened.

    In drawing mode, there are additional tools in compare to sketch mode. See Section 7.9.3.14, “ Tools in drawing mode ”.

  • New guiding curve...:

    Sweeps can be created from a combination of sketch and sketch's guiding curve. See Section 7.6.2.7.3, “Create sweep with Guide curve ”.
