7.8.4.  Rename variable

When renaming variables, in the same course, variables in formulas calculating the 3D part are automatically changed as well.

All Variables saved in the tab- or 3db file are renamed, for example variables used in NB (standard name).

Variables used in PARTproject, on the tabbed page General (saved in the project file .prj) or variables saved in def-files are NOT renamed. For example, variables used in Short name are not renamed. In such a case during QA test an error will occur.

In order to rename a variable do the following:

  1. Select the desired variable in the list.

  2. Click on the button Rename.

    -> The dialog box Rename variable is opened.

  3. Enter the new variable name.

    Only letters and numbers are accepted, all other characters (e.g. !,“,§,$,%,&,/, etc.) are ignored.

  4. Confirm with OK.

    -> The variable is renamed.
