This feature is only officially available for future versions and is only an internal test version with V12.11 and is therefore hidden by default. |
If the feature is activated, the view of the 3D history [3D History] changes.
The required system version (if a feature was used that requires at least V12.0), the name of the component, the selection of the view, the instances and the individual solids are now visible.
Previously, an individual part consisted of a single body with a single design history. With this feature, a part can contain several solids. Each of these solids has its own history that describes how it is constructed. Instances are also available as a new level. These determine where and how a solid is placed in the room, allowing you to use the same solid multiple times, but in different positions or with different orientations. To make this easier, there are practical functions that can be used, for example, to automatically arrange several instances in a certain pattern.
You can create any number of solids (1 to n). Any number of instances (0 to n) can then be created for each of these solids, which are displayed together in a component. If a solid does not have an instance, it does not appear in the 3D view.
The great advantage of this method of working is that the individual part no longer has to have a coherent geometry.
The component consists of three different solids - the outer ring, the inner ring and the balls. A separate solid is created for each of these bodies. As the balls are all the same, it is sufficient to create a solid once for the ball. To have several spheres in the model, simply create several instances of this one sphere solid.
