7.6.2.14.  Texture label

The texture label [Texture label] feature can be used to place images (e.g. a display or a sticker/logo) on the surfaces of components.

Labels are specified analogously to materials.

Texture labels will not be transferred to CAD systems.

Preparation
  1. Define the desired texture labels [Texture label] in PARTproject under Manage render materials [Maintain render materials] (for details see Section 5.9.2.8, “Menu item: Render properties ” ).

    Open the dialog by clicking on the browse button ....

    → The Render materials dialog box opens.

  2. Click on Edit.

    → The Edit material for 3D preview dialog box opens.

  3. Under Color texture, select the image path to the image that is to be used as the label and activate the Texture label checkbox.

    (License and source have also to be filled out in order that the dialog can be closed, what has noting to do with the label itself.)

Materials created in this way are later available for assignment in the PARTdesigner later on.

Allocation of labels to areas
  1. Label on planar face:

    1. Select the face.

    2. Open the context menu and click on the Texture label command.

    3. Select one of the coordinate systems (similar to sketch on plane).

      → The Texture docking window opens.

    4. Determine the positioning [Positioning] and properties [Properties] (width [Width], height [Height], rotation [Rotation] and render material [RenderMaterial] ) of the label. Select the desired label in the list field under RenderMaterial.

      Variables can also be used as RenderMaterial with the following known syntax.

      $VARIABLE.

      Please note the following:

      • Create the render material beforehand and activate the Texture Label [Texture label] checkbox (see Fig. Fig. „ "Edit material for 3D preview [Edit material for 3D preview]" dialog“).

      • Create a Table variable, the name of which can be arbitrary, e.g. TEXTURE

      • Enter the exact material ID in the table variable column. Caution, the field is "case sensitive", so please note that it is case-sensitive!

      • In the Texture docking window (accessible via the context menu on a selected surface), the RenderMaterial field contains the created table variable in the following format:

        $VARIABLE.

    5. Confirm with OK.

    6. Update the display index and open the component in PARTdataManager.

  2. Label on rounded face:

    Placing on rounded faces happens analogously.
