1.3.4.1.  Add new attribute

Information on the various options for calling up the Add new attribute dialog box can be found at Section 1.3.4, “ Attributes " category”.

To add a new attribute fill in the fields in the dialog box or select the desired option in the list fields.

When exporting to PARTsolutions the corresponding settings are implemented.

  • Name: Enter the variable name (here in the example "Info1").

    The name appears in PARTdataManager in the table as a bold column name.

  • Description: Enter the variable description.

    Click on the flag to open a list field for the optional entry of translation terms.

    The description appears in PARTdataManager in the table below the variable name in the set $CADENAS_LANGUAGE... Compare Fig. above.

  • Decimal places:

    See type for selection number [Number].

  • Type:

    • No type

    • Text

    • Number

      The number [Number] type uses 3 decimal places as standard.

      You can change the setting if desired:

      1. Select the Attributes category.

      2. Select the desired attribute.

        -> For attributes of type Number, the setting option Decimal places is displayed.

      3. Adjust the value.

    • Document

      Columns declared as a document [Document] are displayed in PARTdataManager as green columns. You can find a detailed description of this at Section 1.3.4.1.1, “Document columns”.

  • Role: Details can be found under Section 7.8.14, “ Identification type ” in eCATALOGsolutions - Manual.

    • Unspecified

    • Geometry attribute

    • Object feature

    • Function attribute

    • Dimension feature

    • Article number

      With this the ArticleNumber can be displayed instead of the internal PARTdataCenter ID in products.

  • Unit: If necessary, open the list field with Show all.

  • Visibility -> Visible attribute [Attribute visible]: Refers to the display in PARTsolutions.

    If the corresponding attribute was hidden in PARTproject the option is automatically set to invisible during import; and vice versa: the setting in PARTdataManager is used when exporting.

    Both classes and attributes can be set as "visible" or "invisible". For classes, a transparent folder symbol then appears in PARTdataCenter appears as a hint, which otherwise has no further effects.
