One way of coloring a blend feature is via PARTproject -> Show project -> General tab -> Color and texture -> Color. However, this colors the entire part.
Note Area attributes [Face attributes]
As of V11 SP 4, it is also possible to use area attributes (color and material ). However, this function is not downward compatible.
To apply area attributes to blends, you will find the command Feature Attributes.... [Feature attributes...] in the context menu of the blend.
Details on this can be found under Section 5.9.2.8.4, “Detailed example of the Render Material function ”.
Surface selection preferred over edge selection
If edge selection and face selection lead to the same result, in complex cases, basically, use face selection. If only one or two certain edges shall be edited for example, you can decide for the more comfortable and quicker proceeding.
When taking this into account, there will be created less features in CAD systems and there won´t be problems with parametric parts!
Details on face selection can be found under Section 7.6.2.12.5.5, “Face selection”.
For better performance, you can deactivate the preview display [Preview presentation]. Details can be found at Section 7.6.2.12.5.4, “ Preview display and edge visualization for chamfer/rounding ”.
For a STEP export, only STEP should only STEP be used and NOT STEP 3D, as this format does not support the blend feature.
Sometimes the glitch can be avoided by choosing another method for the creation of chamfer or fillet.
If edges do not meet, create the blend as two different blends instead of one “big” blend.
In rare cases, it is possible for a defect to occur in a symmetrical part on a blend in the course of a certain selection sequence of the blends.[80] Changing the order of the selected blends should solve the problem.
In SP3, there is a small defect in the 3D preview when using the blend feature on a cone-shaped body. The defect only occurs in the 3Dfindit preview, so that the 3Dfindit 2D derivation and the exported part look correct.[81] There are a few other small graphical defects, but they should all only occur in the 3Dfindit 3D view, so the 3Dfindit 2D derivative and the exported part will look correct.
