In addition to an initial variable search, you can also trigger a variable search [Variables search] directly from the search results.[26]
In the following the possibilities are explained through a little example.
Carry out a full text search [Full-text search] with the search term "cap screw".
Take a look at the Details mode
mode to view a special characteristic.
Click on the variable value for the variable "D ".
-> Now, based on the already existing settings an additional variable search with the clicked variable value is performed.
Repeat the procedure for the same project or any other project (e.g. by clicking on the value 30 for the variable "L ".
-> Now you still see only characteristics according to the past search selections.
-> All search terms and variable values are highlighted with yellow.
Now click on a variable instead of a variable value.
-> The Variable search [Variables search] dialog box opens.
Alternatively, you could just as easily have opened the dialog box in the dialog area of the search methods by clicking on Variable search [Variables search].
Perhaps change the mathematical operand for "P" from equal (=) [equals (=)] to range (from-to) [Range (from-to)] and enter the desired values.
You can also change already made settings here.
You can see all the settings you have made at the top under Variable search [Variables search].
[26] The feature can be configured administratively (on/off). See Section 1.6.4.7.2.4, “ Key "ClickableVariables" - Search result - Clickable variables and values” in PARTsolutions Administration - Manual .
