8.5. How can I determine the characteristic of a component?

As soon as If you select the individual part or assembly , the table view is opened (depending on the portal). possibly also the variable view ).

In the table view, you determine the characteristic of the component.

No value range fields are displayed in the table view.

As soon as you are in the table view, you can generate the CAD model for the selected row (only useful if no value range fields still need to be set).

  1. When the part is initially called, the manufacturer selected specific default line (activated option button ). For the default line, a Preview available. For everyone other lines, this must first be generated.

    If you change the row, you must click on the Generate preview for current part button in the preview.

    In the table view, you can generate the component of the selected row at any time. To do this, click on Generate CAD MODEL or CAD (portal-dependent).

  2. To open the variable view, click on the line number, the preview image or the part name.

    You must open the variable view if value range fields still need to be defined. See Section 8.8, “Where are the value range fields set?”.

    Otherwise, calling up the view is optional.

    The variable view shows all the data for a specific characteristic in compact form.

    With Click on Back you will be taken back to the table view.

Change characteristic in 3D view

If provided by the catalog supplier, the characteristic can also be changed in the 3D view.

  1. Click on the pencil icon .

    ➝ The various values are listed.

  2. Select the desired value.

  3. Confirm by clicking on Apply.

    ➝ The new dimension is transferred to the 3D view.
