8.3.5. How can I search on the basis of a self-drawn sketch?

You can carry out a search on the basis of sketches you have drawn yourself.

[Note]Note

The more specific the sketch, the fewer are needed. You may get excellent results with just one sketch.

  1. Open the list field under Search and click on Sketch 2D.

  2. To draw the first sketch, click on the desired view (Top, Front, Side).

  3. Select black as the drawing color.

  4. Select the circle function.

  5. Click with the left mouse button in the center of the drawing (view) and draw a black circle while holding down the left mouse button.

  6. Change the drawing color to white and leave the circle function already selected.

  7. Left-click again in the center of the drawing and, holding down the left mouse button, draw a slightly smaller white circle.

  8. Change the color back to black.

  9. Change the tool to Brush and set the line width to 16.

  10. Draw the spokes.

  11. Optionally, you can create a second and third sketch if required.

Click in the next view to draw the second sketch. Draw a second view of the handwheel. The settings are already set correctly.

  12. Click on Search.

    ➝ The results are displayed.

    [Note]Note

After a search has been carried out, the sketches created are saved and are available again the next time they are called up (in the current session until you log out).

  13. Open a hit.
