3.2. PARTsolutions Professional Installation

With this installation package the standard modules PARTdataManager (part selection/search) and PARTadmin (administration) will be installed.

  1. Welcome

    Before executing the setup program, close all opened Windows programs.

  2. End-User License Agreement

    Accept the terms of the license agreement and then click on Next.

  3. Destination Folder

    If needed, adjust the default paths.

    Deployment: This feature can/should also be used for client deployment. Then an image created by admin/consultant can be distributed to the clients via copy or share. Only files without system entries are copied. You can create as many copies as you want (of course each time with another target directory).

    You can add or remove programs anytime via Windows Start menu -> "Add or remove programs".

    • Activate interfaces on client: If CAD systems are already installed, you can save the manual activation if you activate this feature. In PARTadmin under category CAD integration, you can also manually perform the activation at a later time. Also see Section 1.3.3, “ CAD integration ” in PARTsolutions - Administration Manual.

      Under ...\software\install\scripts you can find batch scripts, which can be processed anytime in order to activate/deactivate all integrations. They can also administratively be used in the course of software deployment via Deployment.

      After finished installation respective start menu entries are displayed. The links Activate Interfaces / Deactivate Interfaces will start above mentioned batch scripts.

    • Activate the needed integrations.

    • Activate the installation of the help, which then is available by clicking F1.

      Details on this can be found Section 7.2, “ Help”.

  5. Start the installation by clicking Install.

    -> Once the installation is completed, the following dialog will appear.

  6. Install an already received license via PARTadmin under tabbed page Licenses -> Add file...:

    Otherwise request a license on the tabbed page Request licenses online.

  7. Install needed catalogs and classifications via PARTadmin.

[Note]Note

Always when a central PARTapplicationServer is in use, it should be started as service.

For this, after setup is finished and license activated, call "install/scripts/appserver_service_activate.bat".
