8.5.1.  Check release notes and change details

You can get an overview of project changes before updating the catalog.

  • Simple review of project changes

    View the information on the Release Notes and Change Details [Modification Details] Tabbed pages.

    Other updates have been carried out [A miscellaneous update has been made]
    Wizards have been updated [Assistants have been updated]
    Classifications have been updated
    The catalog has been updated for technical reasons [Due to technical reasons, the catalog was updated]
    A new language has been added or existing translations have been revised [A new language was added or existing translations were reworked]
    New series / products have been added or changed [New series/products were added or modified]

  • If you have the catalog cip file available, you can work with the offline version under PARTadmin -> Category Catalog update -> Offline and also display a tabular list of all projects BEFORE the installation.

    The list shows for each project whether a change has been made and if so, where exactly, whether in the project, table or 3D.

  • AFTER the installation you will find the same information in the PARTdataManager under Part selection -> History -> Installed catalogs.

    Here you can see which catalogs have been added and when, and which files have changed compared to the previously installed version.

    The following icons indicate the respective directory or project status:

    Change / New in the directory [Changes / New files in the directory]

    At directory level: All projects in the directory are unchanged.

    Project level: No change: Identical project

    The file has changed / change in the project

    The file is new / New project
    Project deleted

    If you move the mouse over the icon, the tooltip with the change history of the catalog becomes visible.

  • Before an update, you can also compare the table [Table] and the corresponding 3D view of the current and the catalog version to be installed for any construction parts.
