After clicking on
, the search results are listed below.
The percentage value is highlighted in color according to the degree of agreement.

The percentage may deviate by a few points from the actual best possible value. It refers to the pre-calculation part used for the comparison. To ensure fast calculation times, the geometric data may not be precalculated for all parts in large tables.[58] When loading a part, missing data is always calculated so that the display in the 3D comparison and 2D comparison is always correct. To see all existing individual parts (characteristics) of the family table, simply load the search part and the part found to be checked either into the part view [Part view] or into the part comparison [Part comparison]. |
Filter [Filter mirrored parts] mirrored parts: In the list of search results, mirrored parts are marked with a corresponding icon icon in the list of search results.
In the Quick comparison [Quick compare] column, you can see the proportion between the search part and the result part.
In the result part, the bounding box (three-dimensional envelope) of the search part is drawn in the 2D representations of the search results so that you can see the size ratio between the search part and the result part at a glance. You can see the exact values in the Size column next to it.
At the search part itself the bounding box is covering exactly. At bigger or smaller search result parts it is outside or inside.
The quick comparison [Quick compare] is not displayed by default. If you want to see this for all result parts, activate the Show for all checkbox in the Quick comparison [Quick compare] column, otherwise activate the checkbox directly for the desired parts. In the column header, you can call up the Select columns dialog via the context menu and switch the quick comparison [Quick compare] on or off there (see Section 3.1.6.7.2, “Show/hide columns ”).
In the 3D tooltip of the result list the bounding box[59] of the search part is also displayed (analogously to the red bounding box in the 2D quick compare).
The bounding box of the quick comparison [Quick compare] is also displayed under Parts view [Part view] -> References [Links].
The results can be displayed according to various criteria (metadata) such as preview [Preview], catalog [Catalog], project [Project], etc.[60]can be sorted. To do this, click anywhere on the column header of the table.
It may be useful to show only the columns of interest and hide all others. Call up the Properties dialog box with the right mouse button over a column header.
Geometric search (3D) searches with a relatively high minimum similarity value of 90% by default. However, you have the option of successively reducing the value if required. To do this, simply click on the corresponding button at the end of the list of search results.
If the number of search results displayed is below the set maximum number due to the default minimum similarity [Minimum similarity] of 90%, the button Extend search area to xy% similarity appears at the end of the list of search results, otherwise the buttons ... and ... buttons are displayed. are displayed. Whether the button appears also depends on the Maximum number of search results [Maximum number of search result] option:[61]
In this figure the button shows the value "Extend search range to 80% similarity". The default value for minimum similarity has been 90%. Using standard settings the percent value is reduced by 10 percent points per click and the search is started again.
If you move the mouse over a result line, various buttons appear.
For example, click on the Compare with search part [Compare to search-part] button.
-> The component comparison [Part comparison] docking window opens.
In the selection line [Select project line] area for selected projects [Select project line], you can see the characteristic attribute tables for the search part and the part to be inspected. Select the same characteristic for both parts. You can find detailed information on the part comparison at Section 3.1.6.10, “ Part comparison ”.
Click on the Transfer to CAD [Export to CAD] button you can transfer the desired component directly to your CAD system.
[58] For own part catalogs, each characteristic of a family table is usually precalculated by default.
