1.3.1.2. Connect to Server | Import | Commit | Download | Export

  • Connecting to the server

When PARTdataCenter is started, the connection to the server must be established. Otherwise you will not see any catalogs.

Or click on the Connect to component command (for an existing project).

  • Import catalog -> Import from PARTsolutions

The catalog is imported from $CADENAS_DATA into the Appserver (PARTwarehouse Store) and now can be edited by different users.

    [Note]Note

    Is required once initially.

You will find the corresponding call under Workspace -> Catalogs.

Details can be found under Section 1.3.3.2, “Import PARTsolutions catalog”.

  • Commit catalog changes to classification server

Changes in the local status can be recognized by red-colored directories and the respective icon .

You can recognize a "freshly" imported catalog by the fact that all icons show a blue plus sign. After an import, the catalog should be uploaded initially and is therefore visible to all users. You can then upload changes successively to the server whenever you wish.

    [Note]Note

    [Note]Note

Should the catalog structure be faulty (for example because of faulty import parts) committing is not possible.

The error is displayed in the details list of the log.

Notes how to solve problems are found under Section 1.3.13, “Troubleshooting ”.

  • Download catalog changes from classification server

Updating the local workspace [Workspace] is recommended if the catalog name is displayed in bold. This indicates that changes have been made by another user.

Call up the command Update catalog changes from classification server (download) [Download catalog changes from classification server] on the affected catalog.

-> Thereafter the catalog name is displayed in normal font again.

  • Export to PARTsolutions: Appserver (PARTwarehouse Store) -> $CADENAS_DATA

After an export, the catalog is available to all end users.

Background processes can run on the server. The export process can take some time for large catalogs. Once the export is complete, you can see the result in the PARTdataManager.
