1.1.2.2. NX: Replace part via dimensions

As soon as a dimension object is visible and selectable in an assembly, a replace command can be executed via the context menu, which replaces the component to which this dimension object belongs.[1]

Prerequisites:

  • The procedure described only works perfectly from NX2312 onwards.

  • In ifugnx.cfg > block "CreationOptions(is3d):include(CreationOptions)", the key "CreateDimensions" must be set to the value 1 (default=0).

  • The "MN_replace3d_Environment" in ifacecommon.cfg must contain "context" (which is the case by default).

  • The procedure described only works in one assembly group.

Procedure:

  1. Select the menu item MBD Query.

    In the list fields under Query, select "Rule Based Query" and "Find all PMI".

    -> The dimensions are now displayed.

  2. Select a dimensioning point and open the context menu.

  3. Click on the Replace menu item.

    -> Various dialog boxes are opened one after the other.

    Open component project?

    Open component project?

    Select application [Choose Application]

    Select application [Choose Application]

  4. Make your selections and confirm with Select [Choose].

  5. Select the desired component and export again.
