Toolbar "Standard"

  • Undo and Restore

In both buttons there is a list field integrated, which shows the possible steps. When clicking on a list item you will automatically jump to the corresponding state and so possibly save dozens of single steps. (The last step is on top.)

    [Note]Note

After click on Accept changes the history below the button is empty. In other words: only for the steps of the current session undo or restore is possible.

Information for existing customers: In the course of the change from V11 to V12 the button for the deletion of a single step changed and an Undo / Restore function has been added.

  • Delete step

Removes the lastly created design step from the Sketch history or from the drawing in Sketcher.

    [Note]Note

Even if Delete step is executed for a certain element, all elements based on it, belonging to the same feature (design step in the Sketch history), are deleted.

    Example:

This action deletes the whole rectangle.

This action deletes the whole rectangle.

If you really want to delete only a line, please use Delete element or Delete element with condition. See Section 7.9.3.3, “Delete ”.

    [Note]Note

The command Delete step can be undone with Undo.

    [Note]Note

Sometimes Delete step is disabled (grayed out).

This is then the case, if depending elements would also be deleted by the action. On this see Fig. „Perpendicular bisector created on the base of the horizontal.“.

You can mark dependent drawing elements. For this, mark the base element by mouse click and then click Mark dependent elements.

-> Dependent elements connected by construction then are shown in pink.

  • Import sketch

With this command you can insert a sketch in the currently opened one or replace the current one. These sketches may have been created either...

    • as 2D drawing in the PARTdesigner 2D (file extension *.dbs),

    • as sketch template in the feature based sketcher (file extension *.hsk) [or in the conventional sketcher (file extension *.skt)]

    • or in 2D CAD systems (file extension *.dxf)

Select the desired file in the dialog box Choose sketch....

Depending on the file type the respective window is opened (see Section 7.9.3.2.1, “Dialog box „Insert sketch“ (*.dbs-, *.skt or *.hsk files) ”) or Section 7.9.3.2.2, “Dialog box „DXF Import“ (*.dxf file) ”.

  • Repair DXF import

On this see Section 7.9.3.2.2, “Dialog box „DXF Import“ (*.dxf file) ”.

  • Save sketch: When clicking the button, the same-named dialog box is opened.

You can save sketch templates (*.hsk) and 2D drawings (*.2db) and later load again with Import sketch (see above).

  • Accept changes

Those changes that have been made since opening the sketch are saved and the Sketcher is closed.

If there is an error in the sketch, the following warning is displayed. You can leave the sketcher anyway. Then the sketch is marked as auxiliary sketch and cannot be assembled.

Edges cut or intersect themselves. The sketch will be marked as construction sketch and can't be used.

If before a 3D model had been created, saving is not possible. In any case, correct the error.
