Adding symbols may happen after the process of modelling additionally and optionally. Normally this step will happen in an automated process. | |
Symbolic views can be added to the eCATALOGsolutions data model by adding 2D DXF/DWG drawings. These files must be stored and maintained in the catalog folder. It is recommended to use a “pool” folder and link the DXF/DWG files like described below.
The Symbol must be added as an additional export format to the eCAT project file:
A CNS class must be set, too (“CNSCAX|GFX|LAYOUT” or “CNSCAX|GFX|SYMBOL”, the behaviour is identical).
An example can be found under Section 5.12.13.2, “Classify symbols (DXF/DWG) as "Additional export formats" (manually)”.
The command to assign the symbol (with the ID, as given in Step 1) is “ADDFILE://xxxxx” and xxxxx represents the ID.
Currently[8] the only system that supports symbolic views is Revit.
