The prerequisite for using a license server is an installed and functioning TCP/IP [Protocol] protocol on all participating computers.

To check whether a TCP/IP protocol is available for your computer, open the WINDOWS start menu. ^[5] open the Settings/Control Panel/Networkdirectory. The TCP/IP protocol must be activated in the Protocols tab.

As a member of a network (incl. network card on your computer), you usually have such a protocol. If this is not the case, you will need to install the TCP/IP protocol.
