With V12, the handling of various functions such as base extrude, cut extrude, pattern, sweep, etc. has been fundamentally improved.
Editing dialogs have been given their own docking window tool [Tool]. The label of the window corresponds to the respective function (e.g. for "Base extrude " "Extrusion body [Extrusion solid] "). While a tool is active, the history tree, variable manager [Variable Manager] and table [Table] are automatically deactivated to prevent model changes; in addition, the context menu of the 3D view is not displayed.
The 3D view itself remains active even when the editing dialog is open. You can therefore change values and view the effect directly in 3D.[10]
The docking window tool [Tool] behaves like all the others. It allows you to adjust the size, position and detach from the group.
If the docking window is closed with a tool in active state, changes are not applied.
The docking window can be shown or hidden, if the current view is 3D modelling (same behavior as the history tree) and allows no access as long as the sketcher view is active or you are in the table mode[11].
The respective icons are displayed in the toolbar tool [Tool] according to the selection in the 3D history [3D History] or 3D view. The same commands can also be found in the context menus of the history tree. The following is an overview of the various selection options.
