Depending on the intended workflow, an ERP number can be added to a table row (a product) in 3Dfindit.
Background: As already mentioned under Export status, parts without an ERP number cannot usually be exported to the CAD system. A corresponding workflow must therefore exist in order to assign an ERP number to parts or to enter them in the ERP system.
The range goes from a simple workflow with direct assignment of an ERP number from the application (described in this chapter), to requesting an ERP number by e-mail ( described below ), to direct integration in the ERP/PDM system.[18]
The following example shows the direct assignment of an ERP number from the application.
Select a line (empty line or one with an existing ERP number to create another line with a different material).
Click on the Add to link database button.
-> The New Ident Number [new ident-no.] dialog box opens.
Similar parts that are already in the database. Please check whether you can use one of these parts instead [Similar parts which are already in the database. Please check if you can use one of these instead]
The ERP fields to be filled in are displayed in the left-hand dialog area, while all similar parts that are already contained in the link database are displayed in the right-hand dialog area.
If no similar parts are available, only a corresponding note will appear.
The input fields can be extended as required, so they do not necessarily look like the example here.[19]
If you actually want to create the part, fill in the ERP fields displayed and confirm with . (The ERP_PDM_NUMBER can also be generated automatically depending on the defined workflow).
-> The data is entered in the corresponding ERP columns.
[18] See, for example, Section 3.3.3, “ SAP ECTR ” in PARTsolutions Administration - Manual .
[19] Details on the configuration of the New Ident Number [new ident-no.] dialog can be found under Section 4.11, “ Design "New ident number " dialog box - erpcustom.cfg -> Block [USERDIALOG] ” in PARTsolutions Administration - Manual . The automatic assignment of an ERP number can also be defined.
